Miscellaneous Improvements

New Playground Equipment 

Look for new playground equipment installed in the following parks:

 Alabama Square (Installed)    Zamora Square(Installed)     Dunmire Woods(Installed)     Springdale Park(Installed)     Lavallet Park(Installed)     Fricker Resource Center (Installed)

Cobb Resource Center and Playground

New playground equipment is currently being installed at the newly renovated Cobb Resource Center!  The equipment is state of the art and fully ADA accessible.  Check back for photos and expected completion date.

Bayview Senior Citizen Center

The City's Senior Citizen Center will receive a much need refurbishment.  An automatic opening entry door has been installed and a number of the buildings door and window frames have been replaced due to deterioration.

  • The ballroom has received new wood flooring and new paint
  • Interior of the building has been painted
  • A pergola has been installed along with an out side seating area
  • The kitchen has received new appliances, countertops and cabinets

Lavallet Park 

Both new playground structures have been installed and are now open for play.   The park walkway has been repaired and extended around the perimeter of the park.  The park picnic shelter has also been installed and new picnic tables will be installed shortly. 

Morris Court 

Improvements will include new play equipment, repair of basketball court lighting and installation of a walking path around the park.  The Neighborhood Services Department is working closely with the Housing Authority to create plans for the renovation of Morris Court.  Once plans have been made we will poll the children in the surrounding neighborhood to assist us in deciding what kind of new play equipment is installed at the park.

Bayview Tennis Courts

The Bayview Tennis Courts have just been resurfaced!  If you are a tennis player or would like to give tennis a try check out the newly resurfaced courts located on the North side of Bayview Park.
